Duties include supervision of engineering design, writing of AFE, maintaining technical documentation, sourcing of materials and interfacing with regulatory and classification societies to obtain necessary approvals and certification.

Managing modification of the SEDCO 601 in Singapore. Prior to
that supervised a crew of 5 inspectors, in Japan, for SEDCO INC. for the new manufacture of 86,000ft of ABS grade RQ3 and the repair of 185,000ft of ABS grade RQ3 offshore mooring chain at NCA (Nippon Chain and Anchor) in their Kawajiri factory, as well as HCM (Hamanaka Chain Manufacturing Co., Ltd.) in their Himeji factory, overseeing the testing, repair, new production, documentation and metallurgical requirements of said chain.
1981 - 1983 PROJECT MANAGER, Mitsui Shipyard, Tamano - Japan
Responsible for all phases of construction and drawing approval for a $185 million semi-submersible, dynamically positioned drilling vessel (SEDCO-710), at that time a leading edge of technology design. Supervised a staff of 30 people, consisting of engineers, technicians, draftsmen, inspectors and other administrative, material support, secretarial and accounting personnel. Personally handled specific design and engineering tasks such as:
Engineering and physical layout of most main machinery compartments.
Detailed design of all electrical switchgear and thruster power drives and controls.

Engineering and physical layout of the 4160VAC main generator plant and main distribution system, 480VAC secondary distribution system and the 220/120VAC minor power and lighting distribution system.
Conceptual design, engineering and physical layout of the crew quarter accommodations and the HVAC plant.
1980 - 1981 PROJECT MANAGER, NKK Shipyard, Tsu - Japan
Responsible for all phases of construction and drawing
approval for 3 jack-up type rigs, (SEDCO-251, 252, 253) having a combined project value of $78 million. Supervised a staff of about 20 people, consisting of engineers, inspectors, secretarial, technicians and other support personnel.
1978 - 1979 SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER, Mitsubishi Shipyard, Hiroshima Japan
Responsible for the construction stage of the MSV Tharos (now TSF’S drilling rig MARIANAS), a multi-function support vessel that carried purpose designed hotel type crew quarter accommodations for up to 500 people; a machine shop capable of overhauling offshore compressor/turbine packages, drilling and production platform firefighting equipment with 4 x 2000hp fire fighting pumps, limited dynamic positioning capability and full saturation diving equipment. Supervised a staff of about 25 people, consisting of engineers, inspectors, secretarial, technicians, and other support personnel.
1975 - 1978 PROJECT ENGINEER, Mitsui Shipyard, Tamano - Japan
Provided construction supervision for a dynamically positioned surface type drilling vessel (SEDCO-472), directing a staff of 10 people, consisting of engineers, inspectors, secretarial and other personnel.

Functioned as an advisor and trouble-shooter for electrical matters on various construction projects, as well as inspecting manufacturers facilities to ensure and enforce conformance with SEDCO INC’S design specifications.

In first assignment as a member of the SEDCO INC. Construction and Engineering Department, assisted in building the worlds first dynamically positioned surface type drilling vessel (SEDCO-445).
